Jeff Lilly

Vulne Pro Site Aliases: Hatrack, Hatrax, Wolfgang

Birthplace: Mt. Clemens, Michigan. To correct Mike, our home state looks like a big hand throwing a fish.

Current Base of Operations: "Fashionable" Ferndale, Michigan, a small town near the big city, as it were. We're about six square miles of land tucked just north of the city of Detroit. I live half a mile from 8 Mile, the street made famous by local son Eminem. I also live about ten miles (in a straight line) from the U.S./Canadian border, in one of the only places in the U.S. where you have to drive south to get to Canada.

Married: Yes. I'm married to a Japanese girl who is crazier than me. Help.

Education: BA from Oakland University, Rochester / Auburn Hills, MI, in East Asian Studies. Graduate student at Eastern Michigan University going for a Master's in Special Education… which I might eventually finish if I can find a break from writing stuff about spaceships and aliens.

Blood Type: I take anything from 5W-30 to 10W-40, depending on the season and conditions.

Deepest Obsession: : Skulls! They lie at the heart of us all... well, maybe just in the head. They are cool. They are also a gentle, friendly reminder that one day I'll be dead so I'd better get my butt in gear.

Stupid Human Tricks: I can speak Japanese well enough to sing enka in a karaoke bar. I can also move each of my eyeballs separately from the other.

Favorite Music: Just about any genre from classical to grindcore to progressive to minimalist, but I prefer highly unusual and experimental approaches. Examples: Jeffrey Koepper, Mike Oldfield, Rogue Element, Gong, Arundas, John Cage, Naked City, Painkiller, Melt Banana, Tom Waits, Boredoms, Magma, Hoahio, Steve Roach, and Terry Riley. All time favorites: Rush, King Crimson, EARLY Genesis, Hawkwind, and early Tangerine Dream.

Favorite Authors: Isaac Asimov, Philip K. Dick, Ray Bradbury, Octavia Butler, Harlan Ellison, Haruki Murakami, Neal Stephenson, William Gibson, Pam Bliss, and Douglas Coupland.

Favorite Films: Blade Runner, Amadeus, Fight Club, Gandhi, The Exorcist, The Hudsucker Proxy, Chariots of Fire, Buckaroo Banzai, City of Lost Children, Monty Python's The Life of Brian, A Scanner Darkly, Evil Dead 2.

Favorite Director: Terry Gilliam!!!!!

Worst Job: While in high school I was employed by the golden arches. Not as bad as it might seem, since I had the best job in the place, namely cooking the burgers. The bad part was seeing just what goes into the food. I also got to do a lot of culinary experiments, so the time was not totally wasted.

Personal Info: I'm very tall. I'm a loud, forward, irascible lout with a heart of gold. I've been writing stories since I was little.
